Paulina Lopez-Velazquez

Co-owner, La Guelaguetza Restaurant

Paulina Lopez-Velazquez is a business advocate, speaker, creator, cultural ambassador, and influential voice in Los Angeles’ culinary landscape. As a driving force behind Guelaguetza, her family’s acclaimed Koreatown restaurant, Paulina and her siblings, Bricia and Fernando, have helped bring Oaxacan cuisine and culture to the national stage.

Guelaguetza’s recognition as a James Beard Foundation American Classic reflects the family’s longstanding commitment to preserving and sharing authentic Oaxacan traditions. Building on the restaurant’s success, the family expanded into consumer products with I Love Micheladas™ and Guelaguetza Mole Starters, now distributed through retailers across the country.

Beyond food and hospitality, Paulina is a passionate entrepreneur and community builder. Together with her sister Bricia, she co-created the Super Mamas Podcast, a platform designed to connect, support, and empower mothers. Their work has expanded into live events that foster community, connection, and women’s empowerment.

Through her entrepreneurial ventures, public speaking, cultural advocacy, and community initiatives, Paulina has become a prominent ambassador for Oaxacan culture and cuisine. Her ability to bridge food, business, culture, and community has made her a transformative presence in Los Angeles and beyond, inspiring new generations to celebrate cultural heritage while creating opportunities for meaningful growth.
