Lupillo Ramirez is the Senior Director of Innovation and Product Development at Northgate Gonzalez Markets, where he leads product innovation and identifies emerging Latino food trends that drive growth and consumer engagement. With nearly four decades at Northgate, he has played a pivotal role in transforming the company into one of the nation’s leading Hispanic grocery retailers through innovative product development and strategic merchandising.

Mr. Ramirez began his career with Northgate in 1986 as a Deli/Dairy clerk and advanced through leadership positions in store operations, merchandising, purchasing, and marketing. His deep understanding of the grocery industry, combined with a Bachelor’s degree in Business and an MBA from Pepperdine University, has made him a key member of Northgate’s Executive Team.

Recognized as a respected food industry leader, Mr. Ramirez received the Inspirational Food Leader Award from the Latino Food Industry Association in 2019 and has been featured in leading industry publications, including Abasto Magazine and Store Brands Magazine. He has also served on the Board of the Deli Dairy Bakery Association and currently serves as President of the Latino Food Industry Association, where he champions innovation, leadership, and opportunities for Latino professionals across the food industry. Based in Southern California, he is a frequent speaker at national and international industry events.
