Andrew Freeman
Named one of the Top 25 Most Extraordinary Minds in Sales and Marketing by the Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International, Andrew has nearly three decades of coast-to-coast hospitality experience.
Andrew is the founder and CEO of af&co. and co-founder of Carbonate, award-winning hospitality consulting and communications agencies specializing in restaurants, hotels, travel, food and beverage, and lifestyle brands. Through both companies, he advises clients on public relations, marketing, partnerships, events, brand strategy, and business development.
Prior to founding af&co., Andrew served as Vice President of Public Relations and Strategic Partnerships for Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants. During his ten years with Kimpton, he helped launch more than 40 hotels and restaurants, as well as the global Kimpton brand. He also helped spearhead the company's pioneering LGBT travel program, which earned numerous accolades and contributed to Kimpton being recognized as one of the top companies for LGBT employment in the United States. In 2002, Kimpton became the first hospitality company to receive a perfect score on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation's Corporate Equality Index, a distinction it has maintained every year since.
A dedicated philanthropist, Andrew has served on the boards of Meals on Wheels San Francisco, Dress for Success San Francisco, and the Richmond/Ermet Aid Foundation since 2000. He is a former board member of the San Francisco Travel Association and the Anti-Defamation League and previously served as an advisor to the American Airlines LGBT Advisory Committee. For eight consecutive years, af&co. has been recognized by the San Francisco Business Times as one of the Bay Area's Top 50 LGBT-Owned Businesses.
